Army Private Jorge A. Tarula-Navarro, son of Grabiel Tarula of Hubbard, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, demonstrated physical fitness and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.

CSI Gervais — The annual CSI Gervais event will be April 6, with one session from 1 to 5 p.m. and the second session from 6 to 10 p.m. This interactive, team adventure is for forensics fans, detective buffs and crime solvers, who will roam the halls of Gervais High School searching for evidence, interrogating “persons of interest” and trying to squeeze confessions out of suspects.
