Jose Carlos, leader of the Aztec dance group Huitzilopochtli, wears his traditional attire while leading a performance at the Woodburn Public Library last year. Carlos assembled and illustrated “The Corn People: An Indigenous American Creation Story,” a bilingual book for kids, to share cultural stories of the Aztecs, Mayans and Lakota Indians.
