SALEM — Bruce and Joshua Turnidge, the father and son duo accused of planning the Dec. 12, 2008 Woodburn bank bombing which killed two police officers and seriously injured a third, appeared in a Salem courtroom Friday for one of the final hearings before the trial, which is set to begin in late September.

Marion County Circuit Judge Thomas Hart threw out several defense motions to suppress recorded conversations in jail involving the Turnidges.

Thomas said the state may use the evidence in the trial, because there was not an expectation of privacy by the defendants from the onset.

“You were always on notice that it could be recorded and you could be listened to,” Hart said.
