Trojans pick up ground in league

The Kennedy girls use a strong fourth quarter to beat Culver, 34-24, and move into a second-place tie in the conference standings

Kennedy freshman Lakin Susee scored six points in Friday’s win, including a late basket and an assist, giving Kennedy a critical 34-24 victory over Culver. With the win, coupled by Western Mennonite’s loss to Santiam, the Trojans moved into a second place tie with the Pioneers.
MOUNT ANGEL — Thanks to a pesky defense and timely shooting in the fourth quarter, the Kennedy girls basketball team was able to overcome a stalled offense and come away with a key 34-24 Tri-River Conference victory over Culver on Friday.
